Services:
Turf Care
Aeration: The object of aeration is to open up the rootzone by removing cores of compacted soil. The half inch holes punched across the area will shortly refills with shifting soil, loosening the entire area.
Fertilization: We offer several kinds of fertilization:
- Traditional: This is a programmed-release fertilizer. It requires just a single application in the spring.
- Organic: This is an alfalfa based fertilizer that has 3 recommended applications, once each in spring, early summer, and fall.
Mowing: We mow approximately 26 times in a season, beginning the 3rd week in April unless weather conditions dictate otherwise. We stop mowing mid-late October. This service includes string trimming, edging along walks, and blowing off had surfaces.
Cleanups: We recommend cleanups in spring and fall. This service includes cutting back spent perennials, raking through beds to remove leaves, sticks, etc. We also remove same from the turf areas and will often do an initial or final mow depending on the individual property. We blow off all hard surfaces and remove all debris. We will include minimal pruning of shrubs and small trees. Any extensive pruning would be charged out at a pruning rate. Note: Debris removal is charged separately and is based on the actual tonnage rate charged by the facility we take it to.
Weed Control:
Turf – consists of 3 applications for optimum weed control:
- Spring pre-emergent – prevents seed germination and/or seedling emergence
- Summer – selective herbicide
- Fall – selective herbicide
NOTE: We also now partner with Organo-Lawn to offer you additional options for organic fertilization and weed control.
Detail Work
Pruning: Panorama can prune, thin and shear all shrubs (includes vines), trim small fruit and ornamental trees, and trim branches and limbs under 10 feet. This can be included with a cleanup or done as needed during the course of the season.
Mulching beds: Mulching is one of the simplest and most beneficial practices you can use in the garden. Mulch is simply a protective layer of a material that is spread on top of the soil. Mulches can either be organic — such as grass clippings, straw, bark chips, and similar materials — or inorganic — such as stones, brick chips, and plastic. Both organic and inorganic mulches have numerous benefits.
- Protects the soil from erosion
- Reduces compaction from the impact of heavy rains
- Conserves moisture, reducing the need for frequent waterings
- Maintains a more even soil temperature
- Prevents weed growth
- Keeps fruits and vegetables clean
- Keeps feet clean, allowing access to garden even when damp
- Provides a "finished" look to the garden
Organic mulches also improve the condition of the soil. As these mulches slowly decompose, they provide organic matter which helps keep the soil loose. This improves root growth, increases the infiltration of water, and also improves the water-holding capacity of the soil. Organic matter is a source of plant nutrients and provides an ideal environment for earthworms and other beneficial soil organisms. While inorganic mulches have their place in certain landscapes, they lack the soil improving properties of organic mulches. Inorganic mulches, because of their permanence, may be difficult to remove if you decide to change your garden plans at a later date.
Gardening & Bed Maintenance
Panorama's gardeners can help with planting annuals and perennials in beds, pots, and planters. They can maintain what is planted – deadheading, weeding, fertilizing. They can make suggestions and design beds for color, for low-water use, for sun, for shade. They will fertilize and feed and nurture your flowers and maintain the health of your gardens year 'round. They will help your home have the curb appeal you've always wanted.
